PRIMARY DUTY
The primary function of the Executive Vice President of Clinical Services is to support, direct, and provide oversight to all areas of clinical services within the organization. This position will require extensive, regular travel to support all aspects of clinical management for the company.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Works with the COO, Regional management team, and community management to organize and implement programs and training in clinical and risk management areas. Develop, improve, and maintain a Performance Improvement/Risk Management Compliance Program, including identifying conditions or situations that may lead to risks and the associated conditions or situations in existing resident/visitor exposures and environmental losses. Works with Regional Clinical Nurses to support all Assisted Living and Memory Care staff. This responsibility includes assisting in hiring, coaching, orientation, scheduling, and staff training as needed. Communicates regularly with the Executive Team on relevant issues, updates, and support needed. Supervise and Support the Vice President of Quality Assurance Acts as a liaison with business and capital partners. Monitor all clinical systems and platforms. Ensure clinical labor is within budget, actively reducing controllable move-outs, and ensuring excellent regulatory success. Participates in the development of new programs for clinical and environmental staff competencies. Performs all necessary verbal and written disciplinary actions required of supervised staff. Ensures documentation and processes meet and align with company policies and procedures. Works with the VP of Operations team and Corporate staff to conduct community audits as required of current Underwriting (Acquisition and third-party) Works with the Executive Directors and Regional Directors of Operations to ensure Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activity in the building. Identifies and sets priorities in resolving service-related issues, and ensures that CQI activities within the community meet company CQI policies/plans to improve quality. Provides additional areas of CQI focus through clinical audits performed in the community, as required and requested. Supports Operations in maintaining compliance with all local, state, federal, and licensing rules and regulations associated with the licensure of the building as they pertain to clinical and risk management activities. This includes HIPAA, OSHA, State Survey issues, etc., that apply to the property's location. Fosters teamwork with co-workers, shows initiative in overcoming obstacles, takes actions that assist others beyond job responsibilities, and positively impacts co-workers and visitors. Qualifications Must hold a valid RN license An associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree is strongly preferred in business or a field related to the position. Prior experience managing staff and working in a long-term care and/or assisted living setting. Minimum three years’ experience in assisted living, Alzheimer’s, or Memory Loss care preferred. Experience in residential care management, state rules and regulations, and risk management is preferred.
