Position: Dean of Assessment, Program Development and Academic Support

Job Duties:

Reporting to the Vice President of Academic Affairs, the Dean of Assessment, Program Development and Academic Support provides strategic leadership for academic assessment, curriculum development, program review, academic support services, and institutional planning. The Dean is responsible for advancing academic quality through continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with State University of New York (SUNY) and New York State Education Department (NYSED) requirements, and leading innovation in academic programming. Working collaboratively with faculty, deans, administrators, and external partners, the Dean oversees institutional assessment processes, curriculum development, academic policies, and program planning that promote student success, academic excellence, and institutional effectiveness

Essential Functions:

Provide strategic leadership for institutional assessment, academic program review, and continuous improvement initiatives

Oversee the development, revision, approval, and discontinuance of curricula, courses, certificates, and academic programs

Serve as the administrative liaison and ex officio member of the Faculty Senate Curriculum Committee, Program Review, and General Education Committees.

Provide leadership and oversight for academic support services to promote student retention, persistence, and completion

Direct the development, implementation, and periodic review of academic policies and procedures

Coordinate institutional compliance with SUNY, NYSED, accreditation, and other regulatory requirements related to academic affairs

Serve as the primary liaison between the Office of Academic Affairs and SUNY, NYSED, and other external agencies on matters related to curriculum and academic programming

Oversee articulation agreements, transfer pathways, and academic partnerships with secondary schools, colleges, universities, and community organizations

Collaborate with faculty and administrators to identify opportunities for new academic programs, workforce initiatives, and innovative instructional delivery methods.

Support grant development, implementation, reporting, and assessment activities related to academic initiatives.

Collaborate with the Vice President of Academic Affairs in academic planning, strategic initiatives, resource allocation, and budget development.

Represents the Office of Academic Affairs on institutional committees and at College, SUNY, and community meetings.

Participate in the development and implementation of management strategies, policies, and procedures affecting Academic Affairs.

Participate in executive-level planning and strategic discussions involving personnel, organizational structure, and academic operations.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Academic Affairs.

Required Qualifications: Master’s Degree with a minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience at a 2 or 4 year at community college or institution of higher education. Must have leadership and Assessment experience.

Starting Salary: $125,000 - $130,000
