Learn more about this agency Duties Help SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Curriculum Area Manager of the Director, HQ AFOATS Curriculum Division (AFOATS/ CR). This position serves as the primary curriculum development support for AFROTC and OTS academic programs. DUTIES:
- Serves as a faculty instructor in all areas of instructor training for AFOATS including educational methods, communications skills, educational foundations, evaluations and instructional design.
- Reviews core curriculum and makes recommendations of learning objectives, course content, methodology, textbook design, evaluation instruments, editing and production, and other related aspects of curriculum development.
- Conducts research and maintains professional relationships.
- Major participant in instructor professional development.
- Identifies and informs supervisor of anticipated vacancies, personnel shortfalls, workload changes and other factors affecting staff replacements or additions in a timely manner.
- Functions as an AFOATS Student Evaluation Officer.

- The incumbent academic credentials are invaluable in directing the long-term educational success of AFOATS.
- Knowledge of teaching, research, development of curriculum, instructional materials and other educational activities with emphasis on educational technology, research and adult learning. A master's degree from an accredited college or university in a discipline related to the school's core curriculum content is desirable.
- Knowledge of or experiences in the areas of testing to include current educational technologies and techniques available is mandatory.
- Seniro level experience/ ability in the management of human resources in an educational enviornment. Skill in analyzing personnel qualifications. Ability to lead, manage, supervise and moderate staff of professional educators.
