Job Summary We’re seeking an experienced Press Brake Operator who thrives in a fast-paced, custom fabrication environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read and interpret blueprints, and hands-on experience operating Amada and Bystronic press brakes. This role plays a key part in producing high-quality parts and ensuring operational excellence on the production floor. Responsibilities Set up and operate Amada and Bystronic press brake machines Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions Make necessary machine programming adjustments to maintain quality and precision Measure and inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools Maintain an efficient production rate while producing accurate, custom components Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and improve manufacturing processes Ensure safety procedures are followed at all times Exhibit reliability, initiative, and a strong work ethic Demonstrate continuous improvement and willingness to learn new skills Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED; or 3+ years of related experience/training Proven experience as a press brake operator in a contract manufacturing/job shop environment Familiarity with Amada and Bystronic press brake machines, including programming adjustments Strong ability to read blueprints, travelers, and setup notes Skilled in using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools Ability to perform bend allowance and other machining calculations Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of metal fabrication processes Valid Michigan driver’s license (required for lift truck certification at DeWys Manufacturing) Working Conditions While performing duties, team members are regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and variable noise levels ranging from moderate to loud. Safety glasses must be worn at all times. Hearing protection is available but not mandatory.
