Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Telemetry)

Location

Boston, MA | Acute Care (Inpatient)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Rotating Shifts (Days, Evenings, Nights) | Every other weekend and holidays required | No on-call required

Key Responsibilities

• Float across up to 15 medical surgical units within a large inpatient facility, supporting specialties including neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, gynecology, urology, orthopedics, oncology, transplant, and vascular
• Perform unit-specific procedures including 12-lead EKGs, telemetry monitoring, blood transfusions, and Lasix drip management
• Administer nebulizer treatments; collaborate with Respiratory Therapy for ventilator management
• Maintain patient ratios averaging 4:1 on days and up to 6:1 on nights
• Document and navigate patient information using Epic EMR
• Work a rotating combination of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts, including day, evening, and night rotations on a 4-week schedule cycle

Required Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license required at time of submission
• Minimum 3 years of related RN work experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• CPR certification – AHA required
• ACLS certification – AHA required
• Level I trauma experience required
• Epic EMR experience required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a teaching hospital setting
• Specialty area expertise within medical surgical nursing
• Comfort with receiving unit assignments with short notice (as little as 2 hours before shift)
• Basic proficiency with web-based applications and computer navigation
