Design, procure, and deploy unique shipping containers for automotive parts.What you'll do...Work with Ford Purchasing to quote, analyze bids, and place orders with fabricators and manufacturersReview Fabricator's quality planning to ensure it is in line with standards and expectationsSchedule and complete transportation testing. Work with our test engineer to determine test criteria and document pass/fail conditions. If required, develop and implement an action plan to correct any issues identified during testing.Drive continuous improvement of container designsIncrease pack density to drive lower freight and labor costsReduce container unit costs and tooling costs through optimized designs and new technologiesImprove part protection, functionality and durabilityParticipate in campaign efforts as required to address repair and/or quality issues with containersAdvance the science and discipline of packaging engineering through the pursuit of new technologies, methods, and ideas
