Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | Full-Time | Days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) | Onsite | 13-Week Assignment | 36 Hours/Week Guaranteed | Every Other Weekend Commitment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill neurological and neurosurgical patients including those with ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, post-op craniotomy, seizures, encephalopathy, and neurologic tumors
• Perform comprehensive and thorough neurological assessments on hemodynamically unstable and mechanically ventilated patients
• Operate and monitor specialized unit equipment including Alaris Pumps, Arctic Sun, Prismax, EV1000, and Neuroptics Pupillometer
• Document and manage patient care using Epic EMR
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 within a 10-bed Neuro Critical Care unit
• Float to other inpatient areas as needed when home unit is at low census

Required Qualifications

• Active RN State Licensure (Indiana or compact eligibility)
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience
• Demonstrated comprehensive assessment skills including care of hemodynamically unstable and mechanically ventilated patients

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Pupillometer, External Ventricular Drain (EVD), and ICP waveform management
• Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
• Proficiency with Epic EMR
