Bookkeeper

Our company is seeking a highly capable and detail-oriented bookkeeper to support our operations team. The bookkeeper is responsible for supporting the daily finance functions of the company by performing a variety of accounting duties. This role ensures compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) requirements, supports financial reporting, and collaborates closely with the Director of Finance to ensure accurate financial records are kept, and efficient financial processes are realized.

• Enter and prepare accounts payable invoices for payment
• Match accounts payable checks with invoices and prepare for mailing
• Facilitate vendor inquiries in a professional, courteous manner
• Assist in managing employee reimbursement deposits
• Conduct general ledger account reconciliations and adjust journal entries
• Assist in continuous development and process improvement of new procedures and features to enhance workflow
• Complete all assigned reports and/or projects by the required deadlines
• Work closely with the Director of Finance in processing daily accounting duties, payroll, and employee reimbursements
• Use company software and assist site staff to ensure accurate completion of accounting procedures
• Assist the Director of Finance in tracking and organizing fixed assets and property/equipment lists

Required Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• 2–3 years of relevant experience
• Self-motivated and proactive in identifying process improvements
• Attention to detail while maintaining a broad perspective
• Adaptable to business changes and system enhancements
• Knowledge of GAAP and accounting best practices
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong customer service skills with sound judgment
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently
• Goal-oriented team player with exceptional organizational skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
