Responsibilities:

Draw high-quality blood specimens from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations.

Prepare and label specimens accurately for laboratory testing, ensuring compliance with established protocols.

Explain procedures to patients to foster trust and reduce anxiety while maintaining professionalism.

Maintain detailed, accurate records and documentation of all specimen collection activities.

Follow safety practices and uphold confidentiality standards at all times.

Ensure a clean, safe, and professional environment for patients and staff.

Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational goals and improve process workflows.

Assist with processing specimens as needed and support other clinical tasks to promote overall lab efficiency.

Required Skills:

Proven phlebotomy skills with a focus on quality and patient safety.

Minimum of 6 months of direct phlebotomy experience; 1+ years preferred.

Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and create a positive patient experience.

Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating reliability and accountability.

Proficiency in keyboarding and data entry for accurate record-keeping.

Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends, holidays, and on-call hours.

Reliable transportation to ensure punctuality and schedule adherence.

Nice to Have Skills:

Medical assistant or paramedic training background.

Phlebotomy certification, particularly for candidates in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Experience working in retail or customer service environments.

Preferred Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Medical training such as certified medical assistant or paramedic preferred.

At least 6 months of direct phlebotomy experience is essential; more experience is advantageous.

Other Requirements:

Must be within a 20–25-minute commute of the worksite.

Candidates should list their home city and commute time on their resume.

Physical ability to perform venipuncture and handle specimens safely.

Availability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Ability to maintain punctuality and dependability without excessive absenteeism or tardiness.
