Job Title Calibration and Instrumentation Technician (Travelling) Location Holly Springs, North Carolina (Travel up to 50% may be required based on project and client needs) Job Type 6-month contract to hire Schedule M-F 7am-3:30pm Pay Range $43-50/hr based on experience + per diem; see below. Per Diem Total Daily Per Diem: $178 to include $110 accommodations, $68 for food and incidentals Our client, a leader in the Pharmaceutical calibration, consulting and commissioning industry, is seeking multiple Calibration Technicians to join their team. As a Calibration Technician, you will be part of the Process Team supporting various analytical projects. Job Overview Perform hands‑on instrument and controls troubleshooting, repairs, preventive and corrective maintenance to all plant equipment and systems, process measurement and control, utility, laboratory, and bench‑top instrumentation. Other responsibilities include calibrations, electronic maintenance, troubleshooting, loop checks, and more. Responsibilities Hands‑on instrument and controls troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive and corrective maintenance to all plant equipment / systems. Perform calibrations and electronic maintenance of pressure, temperature, flow, CO₂, weight, pH, DO and other critical process parameter measuring devices on a wide variety of process and utility equipment. Troubleshoot and repair electrical and pneumatic control circuits. Perform loop checks for new instrumentation. Perform PMs for bioreactors. Maintain water systems, boilers and chillers. Use CMMS software (Infor, Blue Mountain, Maximum, etc.). Operate incubators, centrifuges, balances, refrigerators, freezers, stability chambers, chromatography instruments (HPLC/GC), spectrophotometers, and other laboratory equipment. May require expert level knowledge of RT‑PCR, bio‑analyzers, gel imagers, scintillation counters, cytometers, histology equipment (microtomes, slide strainers, tissue processors, homogenizers, microscopes), liquid automation and robotics (liquid handlers, plate readers, etc.) depending on client needs. Skills & Qualifications A four‑year degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Electronics or other related technical field; or equivalent military training and 4+ years of applicable experience. Quality System/Pharmaceutical experience required. Expert knowledge and application of instrument and loop calibrations in manufacturing, utilities, and laboratory environments. Exceptional CMMS skills. Strong applied and working knowledge of FDA, GMP, GLP compliance and NIST traceability; expert knowledge of test equipment and tolerance requirements (4:1 TAR). Expert level knowledge of incubators, centrifuges, balances, refrigerators, freezers, stability chambers, chromatography (HPLC/GC), spectrophotometers, and other general laboratory equipment.
