Focus Social Club is a high-energy restaurant, bar, and nightlife venue located in the heart of Washington, DC’s H Street corridor. We provide guests with an upbeat social experience featuring cocktails, brunch, nightlife, private events, and special events.

We are currently seeking experienced, energetic, and dependable bartenders to join our team. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while providing excellent guest service and maintaining a professional attitude.

Job Responsibilities

As a Bartender at Focus Social Club, you will be responsible for:

• Preparing and serving cocktails, mixed drinks, beer, wine, shots, and other beverages according to Focus recipes and standards.
• Providing friendly, professional, and efficient service to guests.
• Working quickly and accurately during high-volume brunch, happy hour, nightlife, and special-event shifts.
• Taking guest orders and accurately entering all transactions into the POS system.
• Handling cash, credit card, and other approved transactions responsibly.
• Checking guest identification and following all alcohol-service laws and venue policies.
• Maintaining proper liquor pours and following established recipes to ensure consistency and control inventory.
• Keeping the bar clean, organized, stocked, and guest-ready throughout the shift.
• Restocking liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, glassware, ice, and other bar supplies as needed.
• Completing opening, closing, and side-work responsibilities.
• Properly cleaning and sanitizing bar equipment, tools, surfaces, and service areas.
• Monitoring guest alcohol consumption and practicing responsible alcohol service.
• Communicating effectively with fellow bartenders, barbacks, servers, security, kitchen staff, and management.
• Assisting with inventory procedures and reporting low-stock items, breakage, spills, or discrepancies to management.
• Following all Focus Social Club policies regarding alcohol service, payments, guest interactions, safety, cleanliness, and conduct.
• Supporting the team with additional duties as needed during high-volume shifts and special events.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Previous bartending experience strongly preferred, particularly in a high-volume restaurant, bar, lounge, or nightlife environment .
• Strong knowledge of spirits, cocktails, beer, wine, and basic drink preparation.
• Ability to prepare multiple drink orders quickly while maintaining quality and accuracy.
• Excellent customer-service and communication skills.
• Professional, outgoing, and team-oriented attitude.
• Dependable and punctual with reliable transportation.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in a busy, fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately handle payments.
• Must meet all legal age requirements for serving alcohol in Washington, DC.
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, brunches, and special events .
• Ability to stand and move for extended periods during shifts.
• Ability to lift and carry bar supplies, cases, ice, and other items associated with normal bar operations.
• Alcohol-awareness or responsible beverage-service certification is preferred and may be required based on applicable regulations.
