Job Summary and Qualifications

The Unit Secretary position organizes and manages the department's activities.

• You will cover the front desk and doors in a secure unit.
• You will be helping to clean equipment and help with stocking bedside carts.
• You will oversee office supply inventory, room utilization, and audio/visual equipment utilization.
• You will provide clerical support for the Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Director of Risk Management & Safety.
• You will coordinate special projects as assigned.
• You will interact with physicians, hospital directors, other hospital executives, as well as employees, patients, and families.
• You will Assists in the completion of department assignments.

Position Requirements:

• BLS Certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
• Unit Secretary experience preferred.
• Two years' experience as a unit secretary or previous clerical experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, basic clinical practice, and computer systems.
• Ability to work with others as a team to ensure quality patient care. Good telephone and interpersonal skills.
• Health care experience preferred.
• Computer skills, excellent customer service, and interpersonal skills.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other health care team members.
• Ability to work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care.
• Strong critical thinking skills.
