Staff Accountant

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting pay rate of $30.00 to $35.00 per hour.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy across financial accounts
- Reconcile balance sheet items such as fixed assets, prepaids, and payroll liabilities, resolving discrepancies with the Controller
- Process and post journal entries as needed to maintain accurate financial records
- Review the general ledger regularly to identify and correct errors or omissions
- Assist with audit preparation by maintaining organized records and supporting documentation
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or 1-3+ years of relevant accounting experience
- Strong proficiency in Excel within a Windows environment, including formulas and data tools
- Ability to work independently and solve problems with minimal supervision
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in managing financial data
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with internal teams and external partners
- Experience with nonprofit accounting or government contracts is a plus
- Familiarity with payroll processes and systems is preferred
- Knowledge of accounting software such as Abila or other ERP platforms
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Demonstrated professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality in financial matters
