Payroll And Hr Support SpecialistBalanced Body® is hiring! We're on the hunt for an experienced Payroll and HR Support Specialist to join our People team and help keep both the paychecks and the people side of Balanced Body running smoothly.In this role, you'll manage payroll — domestic and international — for 450+ employees on our biweekly cycle — hands-on and detail-heavy during processing week, lighter in the week between — while also handling core HR responsibilities across employee records, compliance, training & development, and onboarding/offboarding, plus supporting the broader People team on recruiting, employee relations, and safety. In return, you'll be joining an industry leader that's stable, growing, and genuinely cares about doing right by people and the planet.General ResponsibilitiesPayrollRun regular audits, reconcile reports, and untangle complex payroll discrepanciesAudit timecards and partner with leaders on correctionsTrack leaves of absence and benefit paymentsMaintain clean, accurate payroll recordsField and resolve payroll questions from employees and managersProcess manual checks (adjustments, final checks, etc.) as neededDraft commission, incentive, and bonus calculations per company processMaintain G/L reconciliations for payroll, benefits, PTO accrual and related activities, and other accounts as assignedGenerate draft journal entries to record payroll and related activity for reviewAssist in annual payroll audits, including year-end reconciliationsUS Domestic PayrollProcess bi-weekly and off-cycle payrolls accurately and on time for 450+ multi-state employeesImplement payroll software changes and set up new states nationwideKeep us compliant with federal, state, and local tax lawsInternational PayrollProcess monthly international payrollImplement payroll software changes as neededLearn and train leaders on international payroll lawsEmployee Records & ComplianceMaintain, file, audit, and inspect employee records, ensuring compliance and organized filing (including termination records); responsible for file archivingEnsure HR documents (e.g., performance reviews, disciplinary actions) are signed and uploaded into HRISTraining & DevelopmentTrack certifications, ensuring documentation is complete and current in HRISAssist with training schedules, vendor communications, and all logistics for company-wide trainingsMaintain accurate training records for EDD ETP complianceOnboarding & OffboardingSupport onboarding: build new-hire packets and filesSupport offboarding: build termination packets and maintain termination recordsEmployee Engagement & CulturePartner in employee events, celebrations, and recognitionManage the swing shift contact rosterMiscellaneousSupport recruiters with scheduling interviews and participate in open interviewsSupport HR Generalists with employee relations activitiesSupport the Safety Specialist with safety training and EHS software updatesRequirementsWhat You Bring5+ years of experience in a combined payroll and HR role, or equivalent combined experience across payroll and human resources functionsHands-on experience with employee relations, conflict resolution, and workplace investigationsMulti-state payroll and employee relations experience is a plus (CA, TN, CO, OR)Strong grasp of payroll best practices, employment law, and US labor law (FLSA, OSHA, FMLA)Associate's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field; Bachelor's in HR a plusPayroll Practitioner Certificate a plusProficiency in payroll software (Paylocity a plus), experience managing an HRIS, and intermediate/advanced ExcelStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and OutlookInternational HR compliance experience is a plusManufacturing environment experience is a plusA trustworthy handle on sensitive, confidential informationExcellent communication and people skillsSelf-directed and able to prioritize with urgency when deadlines demand itBalanced Body is the world's largest designer and manufacturer of Pilates equipment, as well as a provider of high-quality Pilates and other mind-body instructor training and continuing education.
