What You’ll Do

As an Emulsion Plant Mechanic, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our plant operating safely and efficiently by applying your technical expertise to equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, agitators, mills, valves, burners, piping systems, hot oil units, and boilers.

Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues to minimize downtime.

Assist with installation, commissioning, and upgrades of plant equipment and systems.

Conduct inspections to identify wear, corrosion, and potential equipment failures.

Maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair records, and equipment histories.

Collaborate with plant leadership and operations team to coordinate repairs.

Respond to emergency callouts when critical plant issues arise; occasional weekend work may be required, with scheduling managed to support work–life balance.

Perform additional plant duties as assigned by the Plant Manager to ensure smooth operations.

Essential Work Requirements

Stand for extended periods.

Lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.

Perform repetitive physical tasks and body movements.

Work in outdoor and industrial environments, including extreme weather, with appropriate protective gear.

Safely climb ladders, tankers, and vertical tanks.

Be flexible with working hours to respond to plant needs and emergencies.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational certification in industrial maintenance or mechanics preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of experience as an industrial mechanic, maintenance technician, or similar role (chemical, asphalt, or emulsion manufacturing preferred).

Strong knowledge of pumps, valves, piping systems, and rotating equipment.

Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics a plus.

Welding, fabrication, and basic electrical troubleshooting skills a plus.

Familiarity with hot oil systems, boilers, and burners preferred.
