Location: Livonia, MI
Type: Full-Time | Store Opening in 2026!

As a General Merchandise Shift Leader , you’ll oversee multiple categories — from health and beauty care to seasonal and household goods — ensuring shelves are organized, stocked, and inviting. You’ll inspire and guide your team, helping customers find exactly what they need while creating a shopping experience that reflects Meijer’s commitment to family, community, respect, and growth.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and motivate team members in the daily operation of the general merchandise department.
- Ensure shelves and displays are fully stocked, organized, and visually appealing.
- Oversee product ordering, receiving, rotation, and pricing.
- Assign daily priorities and tasks to support smooth operations and excellent customer service.
- Train, coach, and develop team members to meet and exceed goals.
- Partner with leadership to drive engagement, sales, and productivity.
- Maintain compliance with store standards and safety guidelines.
- Operate registers or powered equipment when needed.
- Participate in inventory counts and seasonal resets.
- Foster a team culture that supports inclusion, respect, and positivity.
What You’ll Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous retail or merchandising experience preferred, leadership experience a plus.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to coach and motivate others to deliver excellence.
- Detail-oriented and reliable with a commitment to teamwork.
- Physical ability to lift, bend, and move product safely during your shift.
