As a Security Officer Full Time Patrol in Salem, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a utilities location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support access activities with professionalism and care. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being active, delivering outstanding customer service, and communicating clearly while working with a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, and grounded in integrity.

Pay Rate: $18.67 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, staff, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a utilities location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns through appropriate channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, parking areas, and other assigned locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials, visitor logs, deliveries, and/or contractor activity in accordance with site policies and operational requirements.
• Support routine operations by communicating with site personnel, following post orders, and assisting with traffic, entry, and restricted area control as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
