The Level II Registered Nurse (RN) in Medical/Surgical Float is responsible for providing competent nursing care based on established standards within a hospital setting. This role includes clinical practice, service excellence, professional development, and evidence-based practice. The RN may also assume expanded responsibilities such as charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member. Telemetry experience is required, and the position involves working rotating day, evening, and night shifts with weekend, holiday, on-call, and callback duties. Responsibilities: Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse license in New York State.
- Minimum of two years of nursing experience, including telemetry experience.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, rotating shift environment.
- Experience serving as a charge nurse or preceptor.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records such as EPIC.
- Advanced certifications relevant to medical/surgical nursing.
- Rotating shifts including day, evening, and night.
- Every other weekend work required.
- Holiday, on-call, and callback responsibilities as per unit needs.
- No straight shift schedules available.
- Rotating shifts covering day, evening, and night schedules.
- Work every other weekend and holidays as assigned.
- Shift assignments determined by unit needs and staffing requirements.
