Inpatient Coder

Job Title: Inpatient Coder
Compensation
Hourly Rate: $32 – $55 per hour
Location: Remote

Position Summary
As an Inpatient Coder, you will support healthcare organizations by accurately reviewing and coding complex inpatient charts. This role ensures compliance with coding standards and plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of the revenue cycle. You will work with large health systems and high-acuity environments, including academic and trauma centers. • Key Duties:
  • Review and assign accurate codes for complex inpatient medical records
  • Ensure compliance with ICD-10-CM/PCS coding guidelines and regulatory standards
  • Analyze clinical documentation to support appropriate code assignment
  • Maintain accuracy and productivity in a remote, production-based environment
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve coding discrepancies and improve documentation

Requirements

• Education
  • Required: Relevant training in medical coding or healthcare field
• Licenses & Certifications
  • Required: Certification through AHIMA or AAPC

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of inpatient coding practices and guidelines
• Ability to code highly complex inpatient charts accurately
• Experience working in large health systems or academic/trauma center environments
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet productivity standards in a remote setting

Additional Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of coding experience
• Experience working remotely
• Experience coding for large academic or Level I trauma centers highly preferred
• Recent experience coding complex inpatient charts for large health systems
