Position Overview

A leading heavy civil and industrial construction contractor is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee field operations on water, wastewater, and industrial construction projects. This position serves as the primary field leader, responsible for managing all onsite construction activities, supervising crews and subcontractors, ensuring project safety, maintaining schedules, and delivering high-quality work on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing complex public infrastructure projects and possesses strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all onsite construction activities from project start through completion.

• Serve as the primary field representative for the company on assigned projects.

• Attend project meetings and coordinate with project managers, clients, engineers, and subcontractors.

• Implement and monitor project schedules, manpower planning, and daily work activities.

• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies while promoting a strong safety culture.

• Review project submittals, drawings, and specifications to develop effective work plans.

• Direct and supervise field personnel, subcontractors, and equipment resources.

• Coordinate work between trades to maintain project schedules and quality standards.

• Inspect subcontractor and supplier work to ensure compliance with project requirements.

• Identify and resolve field issues, ensuring efficient project execution.

• Provide progress updates and scheduling input to the Project Manager.

• Maintain quality control throughout all phases of construction.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent on heavy civil, industrial, or infrastructure construction projects.

• Strong leadership experience managing multiple crews, subcontractors, and field personnel.

• Experience with public works construction projects is required.

• Experience in water and wastewater treatment facilities, heavy civil construction, mechanical piping, or industrial construction is highly preferred.

• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, scheduling, and field coordination.

• OSHA certification or equivalent safety training preferred.

• Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining safety, quality, and project schedules.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on construction leader with extensive field supervision experience on large-scale infrastructure, heavy civil, industrial, or water/wastewater projects. They have a proven track record of leading crews, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining project schedules, and delivering projects safely and efficiently.
