MRI Technologist

Description This position is responsible for MRI technologist duties. It involves performing MRI procedures (setting up, scanning, and filming), communicating with radiologists, physicians, patients and their families, and other persons. Additional duties include performing quality control and reporting tasks, maintaining day‑to‑day schedules, assisting radiologists, handling medication within the scope of the license, starting IVs, and contributing to the efficient operation of the department while ensuring the quality and continuity of patient care. The technologist is responsible for taking call. Responsibilities Perform MRI procedures, including setting up, scanning, and filming. Communicate effectively with radiologists, physicians, patients, families, and other team members. Perform quality control and reporting tasks. Maintain day‑to‑day schedules and assist radiologists as needed. Handle medication within scope of license and start IVs. Ensure efficient department operation and continuity of patient care. Take call duties as required. Required Qualifications Graduate of a radiographic program approved by JCERT, the American Registry of Radiological Technologists, or the American College of Radiology. Obtain Washington Radiologic Technologist license upon hire. Obtain National Provider BLS (American Heart Association) upon hire. Obtain National Registered Technologist – Radiography (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) upon hire. Obtain National Registered Technologist – Magnetic Resonance Imaging or National Certified MRI Technologist (American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists) within one year of hire. Preferred Qualifications At least one year of experience in all areas of diagnostic x‑ray. Hospital experience. At least two years of sub‑specialty MRI experience.
