Hospital Laboratory Director A respected acute care hospital is seeking an experienced Hospital Laboratory Director to lead all laboratory operations, drive quality outcomes, ensure regulatory compliance, and build a high-performing team. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic and operational leadership for all laboratory services. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and accrediting agencies including CAP, Joint Commission, CLIA, FDA, and CMS. Oversee staffing, hiring, onboarding, competency assessments, training, and performance management. Mentor and develop team members through coaching, accountability, and recognition. Manage departmental budgets, resource utilization, and financial performance. Prepare monthly operational and performance reports. Implement policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives. Build strong partnerships with hospital leadership, physicians, vendors, and support departments. Drive service excellence, patient satisfaction, and continuous process improvement. Promote clear communication, teamwork, and a culture of accountability. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field required. Master's Degree preferred. National certification as a Medical Technologist required. State laboratory licensure required where applicable. Minimum 5+ years of progressive laboratory leadership experience in complex laboratory operations. Prior leadership and team management experience required. Hospital clinical laboratory experience strongly preferred.
