Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures.
• Establish and maintain a sterile field throughout surgical cases.
• Scrub and assist surgeons by passing instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies.
• Prepare and position patients for surgery according to procedure requirements.
• Transport patients safely to and from the operating room.
• Prepare surgical instruments and case carts using physician preference cards.
• Maintain aseptic technique and monitor for breaks in sterile practice.
• Perform surgical counts and assist with specimen collection and handling.
• Operate, inspect, and maintain surgical instruments and specialty equipment.
• Participate in instrument decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention, Universal Precautions, and OR safety standards.
• Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and the perioperative team.

Mandatory Experience

• CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) experience – Required
• Minimum 2 years of Neurosurgery Surgical Tech experience – Required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Surgical Technologist experience preferred.
• Experience working in an acute care operating room.
