Division Summary The Division of General Surgery of the Department of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine seeks a full‑time faculty Pediatric General Surgeon for CHRISTUS Children’s. This position offers a faculty appointment within the Department of Surgery, a competitive salary, and a comprehensive benefits package. The rank of the appointment will be determined by the candidate's credentials and experience. Physicians must be committed to education, collaboration, and excellence in patient care. Job Duties Admit, evaluate, diagnose, consult, and provide surgical (including pre‑ and post‑operative) management to patients from six years through adulthood with congenital and acquired abnormalities and diseases (developmental, inflammatory, neoplastic, or traumatic). May provide care in the intensive care setting per unit policies. Assess, stabilize, and determine disposition of patients with emergent conditions consistent with medical staff policy regarding emergency and consultative call services. Minimum Qualifications Licensed by the Texas Medical Board (or eligible for same). Current certification in surgery or pediatric surgery by the American Board of Surgery (or eligible for same). Experience: Demonstrated current competence and evidence of at least fifty (50) surgical procedures (six years through adulthood), reflective of the scope of privileges requested, during the past 12 months; or successful completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited residency or clinical fellowship within the past 12 months.
