CAD Technician

Overview Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is seeking an experienced CAD Technician to join our growing team in Toledo, Ohio. This role offers the opportunity to support both Civil Engineering and Land Surveying projects through drafting, design support, data processing, and coordination with project teams and field staff. You’ll work on a diverse mix of commercial, industrial, municipal, infrastructure, and land development projects, assisting with the preparation of survey deliverables, site development plans, utility layouts, grading plans, and construction documents. Working alongside engineers, surveyors, and technical professionals, you’ll play an important role in supporting projects from initial data collection through final plan production. Responsibilities: Prepare and support survey drawings and plan production, including ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, boundary surveys , and topographic surveys Assist with drafting and design support for civil engineering projects, including site development, grading, utility, and infrastructure plans Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, or similar software to prepare project deliverables Work with survey and engineering data to develop accurate and complete plan sets Collaborate with survey field crews, engineers, and project teams to support project deliverables Assist with data processing, document preparation, plotting, and project documentation Participate in field activities as needed to gain hands‑on experience and support survey operations Maintain organization and accuracy of project files, drawings, and technical data What We Offer: 100% employee‑owned firm with a path to long‑term growth and ownership access within your first year Competitive compensation with multiple income streams, including paid overtime, performance bonuses, and stock ownership 55% of profits distributed through employee bonuses A clearly defined career path with mentorship and support toward licensure Opportunity to work on a diverse project portfolio across multiple industries Flexible and hybrid work schedule options Comprehensive benefits starting day one (healthcare, dental, vision), along with a 401(k) with a company match beginning the first of the month following your start date A collaborative environment that encourages learning, cross‑training, and professional development Qualifications 5+ years of AutoCAD, Civil 3D design software experience Experience supporting CAD functions within surveying, civil engineering, land development, or geospatial environments preferred High school diploma required Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Survey Engineering, Geomatics, Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred Ability to interpret survey data, engineering plans, and technical information Willingness to work independently in the field, in varying weather conditions as needed, with strict adherence to operating procedures and safety policies Valid Driver’s License required Applicants must be legally authorized to work for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc.
