Mobile Diesel Technician Level II Shift - Tuesday - Saturday Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment; diagnose, adjust, and repair a variety of truck equipment; manage parts inventory; maintain and operate a company service vehicle; document work using company systems; work independently managing own schedule and prioritizing tasks; comply with safety, health, environmental policies and federal regulations. Duties Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles. Conduct minor adjustments and repairs on electrical, brake, cooling, starter/alternator, fan clutch, engine electronics, diesel steering, transmissions, clutches, differentials, and other truck equipment. Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck systems using handheld computers and pressure gauges. Road test vehicles to ensure proper operation. Identify problems, use judgment to generate and evaluate alternative solutions. Independently manage parts inventory and perform periodic reconciliation. Maintain and operate company service vehicle, conduct safety checks and pre/post‑trip inspections. Work with clients to assess needs and resolve issues. Prioritize concurrent tasks and allocate time effectively. Use hand tools, precision instruments, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks. Document work and upload pictures of repairs on Repair Orders using iOS device and TRAIT application. Accurately complete DOT forms and other documentation. Manage own daily schedule with independence. Maintain high productivity and meet standard repair times. Obtain parts from approved vendors as needed. Communicate with management for repair estimates, purchase orders, and RO findings. Work in compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT and company safety policies. Requirements High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field (or equivalent). Possess a set of hand tools necessary for job duties. Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months. Must successfully complete DOT pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical. Current and valid DOT medical card with >4 months remaining (or DOT physical if At least 21 years of age; safe driver with valid state driver’s license. Must hold a valid state driver’s license and be able to maintain a Driver Qualification File.
