CREATIVE DIRECTOR

At Catering By Design in Denver, CO, this Creative Director role leads the overall creative vision across catering and event design, shaping how guests experience décor, presentation, and the details that make an event feel intentional. Alongside senior leadership, you will help launch and grow The Edit Rental Co. , building it into a distinct, revenue-generating brand with a clear point of view in the Colorado market. Role overview You will partner across Culinary, Sales, Event Design, and Operations to develop concepts, execute designs, and drive growth. From client conversations to final installations, the position connects creative thinking with budgets, timelines, and operational realities, while also curating rental collections and strengthening client-facing storytelling. Responsibilities Set creative direction for Catering by Design across events, décor, presentation, and guest experience Lead and mentor the Creative/The Edit team Meet clients and planners to develop concepts and present recommendations Partner with Culinary, Sales, Event Design, and Operations to execute ideas Bring creative direction to marquee events, tastings, and proposals Participate in site visits, design meetings, and walkthroughs Develop resources and training that help Sales pitch stronger ideas Stay current with trends across hospitality, events, interiors, and culture Balance creative thinking with budgets, timelines, and day-to-day operations Shape and launch The Edit, establishing its point of view in the Colorado market Lead growth strategy and own revenue, expenses, and profitability Build rental revenue through Catering by Design events and external business Curate the rental collection of furniture, décor, tabletop, and statement pieces Serve as a client-facing ambassador with planners, venues, and industry partners Partner with Sales and Event Design so The Edit becomes part of proposals and tastings Shape inventory strategy, manage purchasing, and set pricing Identify partnerships and showcases that expand The Edit’s reach Partner with Operations and the Warehouse on storage, transport, and installation Oversee installations to ensure delivery matches the creative vision and expectations Carry the creative vision from the initial client conversation through the final event Collaborate with Culinary on food presentation, including vessels, buffets, and stations Work with Sales to strengthen proposals and client experiences Partner with Marketing on photography, social, and campaigns Provide creative direction for shoots and brand storytelling Requirements Significant experience in event design, décor, rentals, hospitality, or interiors Strong creative eye and a clear point of view on design and guest experience Proven experience leading and mentoring creative teams Strong client-facing presence and relationship-building skills Entrepreneurial mindset and excitement for building something new Ability to move between creative vision and commercial thinking Strong organizational and project management skills Fluency with budgets, pricing, and profitability reporting Proficiency with Canva and PowerPoint; Bachelor's degree or equivalent Location Denver, CO (onsite) Compensation USD 114,000 - 120,000 per year Benefits Medical, Dental, Vision Life Insurance/AD, Disability Insurance Retirement Plan Paid Time Off, Paid Parental Leave, Holiday Time Off (varies by site/state) Personal Leave Associate Shopping Program Health and Wellness Programs, Discount Marketplace Identity Theft Protection, Pet Insurance Commuter Benefits Employee Assistance Program Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) Up to 15% Annual Bonus Annual bonus Up to 15% Annual Bonus Background screening (may apply) Certain positions may require Florida Level 2 background screening.
