Mental Health Technician (MHT) (Recovery Residence) PRN

The Recovery Residence Mental Health Technician (MHT) functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging in age from preschool through geriatrics, depending on which unit works. MHTs work under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Take and record vital signs properly.
• Utilize sound judgment during assessment and observe and document any changes in a patient's appearance, behavior, or ability to work toward treatment plan goals.
• Communicate changes in the patient's condition to the charge nurse.
• Follow the therapeutic interventions outlined by the treatment team for each patient.
• Document the treatment plan, nursing interventions, and the patient's response to the intervention.
• Employ appropriate crisis intervention techniques as needed
• Assist patients with personal hygiene and activities of daily living.
• Act as the patient's advocate and ensure that the patient's rights are upheld.

Your Experience Matters What we're looking for:

Education: High School Degree or equivalent preferred; or Certified Nursing Assistant preferred;

Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy or appropriate therapeutic discipline.

Experience: One year of related experience, with a knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness, preferred.

Licensure: Must maintain a valid driver's license in the applicable state.

Additional Requirements: Successful completion CPR/ First Aid certification and CPI training to within 90 days of employment prior to assisting with restraining procedures. May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.

Compensation:

This is a PRN non-exempt role, and the expected compensation is between $18.00/Hour. We're eager to engage with all qualified candidates, and consideration will be given to experience and skill level. Join us as our Recovery Residence MHT- PRN!
