Summer Physical Therapist – Providence School District Superintendents Office Starting Date: Immediately Location: Delsesto Middle School, Providence, Rhode Island Program Dates: Monday–Thursday, July 6–30, 2026 Hours: 8:15am–12:45pm Pay: $73 per hour (contingent upon enrollment and funding) Position type: Part‑time, up to 2 positions. Dual roles: direct services to ESY students and evaluations through the summer compliance team. Job Description This role provides direct physical therapy services to students enrolled in Providence Schools in accordance with IEPs and completes evaluations as needed. Responsibilities Provide direct physical therapy services to students consistent with IEP requirements Consult with classroom teachers and staff as required by IEPs Write reports on services provided and/or progress notes as required by the special education office Work itinerantly to cover all components of the assignment Work with families of walk‑in students on carry‑over activities for home setting and schedule therapy sessions Complete home instruction for PT services as needed Document services for Medicaid purposes Shed schedule of physical therapy evaluations Complete written physical therapy evaluations Perform additional duties assigned by the Director of Special Education Qualifications Bachelor's degree in an applicable field of education from an accredited college or university Licensed Physical Therapist by the RI Department of Health School‑based experience preferred Citizenship, residency, or work visa required EEO Statement Providence Public Schools is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer that is actively seeking to increase minority recruitment among its administrators and teaching staff.
