Machinist 1 at MKS InstrumentsAs a machinist 1 at MKS Instruments, you will partner with the machine shop team, Engineering, Quality Assurance, and the technical operations teams. You will be responsible for productivity, quality, and meeting the expected daily efficacies. In this role, you will report to the Machine shop supervisor.This posting is for a conversion opportunity for a pre-identified temporary employee currently working at MKS.You Will Make an Impact By:Responsibilities include assignment planning, layout, set-up, operating and making tool adjustments for a variety of major conventional or automatic machinesWorks from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensionsChecks and inspects machining operations against specified tolerancesMay identify and repair minor machine malfunctionsRequired Skills:1+ year of related experience requiredRequires machine shop experience, ability to add and subtract decimalsPhysical Demands & Working Conditions:Perform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods of timeMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs.Regularly requires good manual dexterity and coordinationOccasionally moves/positions objects up to 30 poundsAbility to remain in a stationary position for 60% of the timeFrequently positions self to perform tasks and positions objects below, at, and above shoulder levelMust be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understandMust be able to exchange accurate informationOperates in a manufacturing environmentAbility to observe documents and details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)Dedication to safety to mitigate hazards including handling mechanical and electrical hardware, high voltage, gas, water, and heatNoise level in the work environment is usually averageCompensation and Benefits:Pay Range: $16.70 -27.83 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.
