Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for a CNC Programmer & Setup Operator , on behalf of a manufacturing company located in Buffalo, NY. This company specializes in engineered mobility components and safety systems for defense, security, and commercial vehicles.

This is an excellent temp-to-hire opportunity, or direct hire for the right fit!

Payrate: $28-35/hr based on experience

Schedule: 1st shift, Mon-Thurs (40 hrs)

Summary

Create new CNC programs for production with the goal of making the program as short a cycle time as possible while still producing a quality part that is safe for production to run. They are responsible for troubleshooting issues with the CNC equipment and modifying the tooling and programming as needed. They will run the first piece samples and machine small orders while training production on how to successfully run larger orders.

Job Duties:

• Create new CNC Programs for production.
• Troubleshoot mechanical equipment failures and repair all process and plant equipment as necessary.
• Complete required records for work performed.
• Participate in developing and updating risk assessments and review all applicable risk assessments annually.
• Participate in developing and updating risk assessments and review all applicable risk assessments annually.
• Follow all applicable environmental, health and safety rules and procedures and immediately report all dangerous situations, near-misses, and injuries.
• Complete fixture changes.
• Run and inspect first piece of run. Work with Quality to document first piece inspection.
• Modify fixtures as required.
• Cross-training with maintenance on manual machining (lathe & mill).

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Proven mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic skills.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Demonstrated maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
• Mechanical experience in either manufacturing or related areas.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality required.
• Basic understanding of CNC mill and lathe is required.
• Previous experience running a manual mill or lathe is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with CNC operation and CNC programming preferred.
• Previous training or certification on creating CNC programming is required.
• Excellent attention to detail needed for creating new CNC programs.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Complete tasks with minimal supervision.
• Basic mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to use hand and shop tools.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
