About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to play a pivotal role in the organization's strategic and operational leadership. The successful candidate will be a key partner in translating the company's ambitious vision into action, with a focus on growth and impact. This is a multifaceted role that goes beyond traditional operations, encompassing oversight of guest-facing operations, facilities, major capital projects, and the development of a ten-year master plan. The COO will also be responsible for fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and shared purpose, and will serve as a trusted partner to the CEO, bringing sound judgment and the ability to turn ideas into measurable results. Applicants for the COO position at the company should have a minimum of 7 years' senior leadership experience, with a strong preference for those with a background in executive leadership within a cultural institution. The role requires a candidate with a proven track record in leading complex, multi-functional operations, and senior-level teams, as well as strong business and financial acumen. The ideal candidate will have a record of translating strategy into execution, exceptional judgment, high emotional intelligence, and a genuine commitment to the company's mission. A bachelor's degree is required, and an advanced degree is preferred. The COO will be instrumental in the company's growth and change, and must be adept at developing leaders, building trust, and ensuring operational excellence to advance the organization's impact in conservation and education.
