The $7.8 million project is expected to be completed and open to patients March 2023. This facility is a continued investment in our Niles community and the health of those we serve. It houses a range of coordinated health services from diagnostics to primary and specialty care, all in one place, allowing us to deliver care to a patient's whole family, right in their community.Our provider panel consists of more than 150 primary care providers, and over 800 specialty care providers who are dedicated to serving the health care needs of our community. Corewell Health Lakeland includes three acute care hospitals in St. Joseph, Niles, and Watervliet, as well as multiple other state-of-the-art facilities throughout the region.A Day in the Life of a Respiratory TherapistAssist in administering routine respiratory care services; is responsible for the performance of respiratory procedures commonly used in assigned areas; Work under the general supervision of a licensed respiratory care practitioner. Actual duties and responsibilities will vary depending on the patient unit assigned; provide excellent health care to all clients in Lakeland throughout their developmental life cycle.Deliver respiratory procedures as prescribed by physicians, under the direct supervision of a Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner.Document according to policy, all pertinent information on respiratory care rendered.Ensure patent airway and adequate ventilation during cardiopulmonary resuscitation.Set up, operate, and monitor respiratory monitoring equipment under direct supervision of a Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner.Process respiratory equipment for sterilization and provides necessary preventive maintenance.Contribute to the effective communication needs of the patient care team. Committed to the continuous improvement of the patient experience which includes patient safety, quality of care and excellent service.Maintain commitment to professional growth and competency. Adhere to the organization's published values.Contribute to the productivity of the department and proper coverage as assigned by management, i.e. facility assignment, unit assignment, schedule call, etc.QualificationsRequired High School Diploma or equivalentCurrently enrolled in an accredited respiratory therapy program pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree in respiratory therapy.May be a recent graduate having earned an associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited respiratory therapy program. RequiredRespiratory Therapy student who has completed at least 1 year in an accredited respiratory therapy program.
