# Social Studies Teacher**Mission**St. Edward High School, a Catholic school in the Holy Cross tradition, seeks to educate the minds and hearts of a diverse group of young men to have the competence to see and the courage to act as men of hope for the transformation of the world.**We Believe In****Faith:** Formation of young men in the Holy Cross tradition**Excellence:** An ongoing commitment to excellence in academics and co-curricular programs**Relationships:** A welcoming, family-oriented school community that fosters meaningful relationships**Servant Leadership:** A Christ-like commitment to genuine leadership through service to others**Primary Responsibilities*** Teach 5 class periods per day (60-minute rotating schedule) plus an advisory group.* Support the school's Holy Cross Catholic mission through extracurricular activities, service-learning, and retreats.* Teach courses aligned with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP) curriculum.* Be willing to teach Advanced Placement (AP) and IB Diploma courses.* Collaborate with other teachers to develop interdisciplinary lessons and authentic assessments.* Maintain an organized, positive classroom environment with effective behavior management.* Provide additional academic support to struggling students by working with tutors and colleagues.* Communicate regularly with counselors, learning specialists, parents, and students.* Keep lesson plans and grades updated in Blackbaud, the school's learning management system.* Maintain flexible hours within contract specifications, providing time before school, during community period and after school for additional help, individualized instruction, mentoring or guidance of independent projects.**Qualifications*** Enthusiasm for teaching students with diverse backgrounds, abilities, and learning styles.* Ohio teaching license in Integrated Social Studies or History, or a non-tax teaching certificate.* Bachelor's degree in a related field, Master's preferred.* Previous teaching or instructional experience.* Successful completion of a criminal background check and Virtus training**To Apply**Please email a cover letter and resume to **View email address on click.appcast.io**St. Edward High School is an Equal Opportunity Employer supporting a diverse workforce.
