Refrigeration Technician

Refrigeration TechnicianUnder routine supervision, this position is responsible for performing standard level maintenance, service, and repair of J.B. Hunt specialized trailers/containers (dry van, refrigerated, and temperature controlled), chassis, and other equipment. Technicians must be able to troubleshoot issues, complete all fleet maintenance processes, and ensure that units meet J.B. Hunt specifications at all times. This position has the possibility to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends in addition to overtime; it requires full-time attendance.Key Responsibilities:Demonstrate standard knowledge of preventative maintenance, replacement of parts/components, and more difficult repairs as they pertain to specialized trailer maintenance, air brake systems, and FHWA InspectionsTroubleshoot and repair specialized trailer equipment; work independently and seek assistance as neededParticipate in Original Equipment Manufacturing training for OE repairsUnderstand and effectively follow all shop safety proceduresMaintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers at all timesAccurately perform standard level repairs to company and manufacturer's specifications, complete work orders, and demonstrate understanding of company requirements for standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelinesPerform standard preventive maintenance tasks to include, but not limited to, tire replacements/flat repairs, brake adjustments/services/replacements, electrical diagnostics, basic structural repairs on trailer chassis, sub-frames, etc.Understand and demonstrate the standard use of a cutting torch and welding equipment; perform minor repairs on chassis, frames, brackets, etc.Shift Schedule: Shifts may vary based upon location and business needs.In addition to the company benefits listed below, the maintenance team will also have access to:Career growth opportunitiesCompany-provided uniforms and annual boot programSafety culture with bonus incentivesTechnicians can gain new skills and grow their opportunities through J.B. Hunt's Technician Career Advancement (TCA) programQualifications:Minimum Qualifications:18 years of age with 1-2 years of experience in Semi-Trailer maintenance and repair and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience, and/or military equivalent.Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences:Willingness to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if neededEPA section 608 certification Tech 2At least 1 year of experience in DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakesPreferred Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 1-2 years of experience in Semi-Trailer maintenance and repair and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience, and/or military equivalent.Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediumsAbility to fulfill physical requirements (lift/move appliance up to 50 pounds)Ability to manage multiple prioritiesAbility to read documents and/or information in EnglishAbility to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE)Ability to work both independently and as part of a teamKnowledge of ABS systemsProficient computer skills and/or comfortable working with a computer, including Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.)Ability to use a logical approach to derive a specific conclusion from general ideasAbility to use time and resources efficiently and effectivelyKnowledge of approaches and techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving operations or process problemsAbility to work with minimal directionPossess standard welding, cutting, and brazing skillsThe expected starting pay range for this position is between $28.92 - $38.52Don't let distance keep you from becoming a part of our team!
