What You'll Do

• Manage patients with cardiac and medical diagnoses, including respiratory failure, CVA, DKA, sepsis, post-surgical recovery, and more
• Titrate cardiac, insulin, and vasopressor drips such as Esmolol, Cardene, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and others
• Manage and monitor chest tubes, tracheostomies, central lines, and drains/tubes
• Perform wound care and assist with patient assessments in a fast-paced stepdown environment
• Support patient care teams by maintaining accurate documentation using Meditech Expanse EMR
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including support staff, RTs, hospitalists, and resource nurses
• Ensure compliance with unit protocols, including patient safety and infection control standards

What You Need

• Valid RN license in Louisiana or Compact State
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of relevant PCU RN experience
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
• Skilled in titrating cardiac and critical care medications
• Experience managing invasive devices and complex patient conditions

• LVAD certification (available on 2 West)
• Additional experience with advanced cardiac support or telemetry

About the Assignment This assignment is based at a leading facility in Shreveport, Louisiana, featuring a 24-25 bed unit with specialized cardiac and medical stepdown services. The unit supports a diverse patient population, including post-surgical, cardiac, and complex medical cases, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:3-4. Your role involves delivering high-quality, compassionate care aligned with hospital standards and patient safety protocols.
