QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (METROLOGY)

Summary You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (METROLOGY) in the METROLOGY OFFICE (136) of PSNS and IMF. Responsibilities You will serve as quality assurance surveillance and quality assessment program manager of the Metrology and Calibration program. You will implement quality related policy established by higher authority. You will develop, plan and implement quality assurance projects of considerable breadth and complexity. You will perform evaluations and provide documentation to demonstrate calibration work performed by Navy subcontractors conforms to quality and technical requirements. You will provide training to shop personnel on quality related matters. You will lead failure analysis team investigations to determine the root cause of significant quality problems and to prescribe appropriate preventative actions. You will discuss quality issues and corrective action recommendations to senior managers. You will document and report all departures from the quality management systems. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical expertise in Navy metrology and calibration (METCAL) or ISO 17025 accredited metrology or calibration program requirements, and performing quality assurance methods by conducting targeted audits and designing performance metrics to eliminate deficiencies and ensure procedural compliance.
