NPD Generalist RN Med Surg/Oncology

About the Role Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Waxahachie is seeking a passionate and experienced Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Generalist to support professional nursing practice, education, onboarding, competency management, and clinical development within our Medical Surgical and Oncology service lines. This role is ideal for an experienced nurse educator who is committed to developing clinical excellence and fostering a culture of continuous learning. Key Responsibilities Assess and identify educational and professional development needs of nursing staff. Design, develop, coordinate, and deliver educational programs and competency‑based training. Facilitate onboarding, orientation, and transition‑to‑practice programs. Support clinical staff development through coaching, mentoring, and consultation. Assist with quality improvement, regulatory readiness, and evidence‑based practice initiatives. Collaborate with nursing leaders to achieve departmental and organizational goals. Evaluate educational outcomes and implement improvements as needed. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Current RN license. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Minimum 2 years of recent inpatient medical‑surgical/telemetry nursing experience. Strong clinical, communication, and leadership skills. Preferred Qualifications Oncology experience in an inpatient or ambulatory setting strongly preferred. Previous educator, preceptor, charge nurse, or professional development experience. Specialty certification (OCN, Med‑Surg, or Nursing Professional Development certification) preferred.
