Job Description
Make a significant impact supporting students’ communication and learning needs as a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in the Texico, NM area. This full-time, contract position runs through May 2027 and offers the opportunity to work across multiple sites as an itinerant therapist. Caseload details, including specific age groups and student populations, will be confirmed upon placement, ensuring a dynamic and rewarding experience.
Key Qualifications:
Current and valid Speech-Language Pathologist license for the state of New Mexico
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA required
Experience working in schools or similar pediatric settings preferred
Strong collaboration skills for partnering with educators and families
Flexibility to serve a variety of student populations and travel between sites
Commitment to providing evidence-based, student-centered interventions
Role Responsibilities:
Evaluate students’ speech, language, communication, and swallowing needs
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned to district policies and student goals
Deliver direct therapy services and consultative support, traveling between multiple school sites as needed
Maintain documentation, progress reports, and comply with school and district guidelines
Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
Participate in meetings and professional development as part of the school’s support services
