Dental Hygienist

Dental Hygienist – Maternity Coverage (Part Time) Location: Independence Family Dental Care – 14227 E. US Highway 40, Hawthorne Square, Kansas City, MO 64136. Dates: April–August, 2024 (part‑time). Overview As a Dental Hygienist at Independence Family Dental Care, you will provide comprehensive hygiene services to patients, collaborate with the dental team, and support patient education. Responsibilities

• Perform pre‑ and post‑treatment examinations and oral prophylaxis.
• Take and interpret diagnostic radiographs as required.
• Document medical history and treatment plans in the electronic medical record system.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and preventive care.
• Assist with dental procedures and maintain a clean, safe work environment.

Qualifications Current dental hygienist license in Missouri. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene, where required. Excellent knowledge of dental hygiene procedures, patient screening, and documentation. Valid CPR certification. Preferred Experience Experience in a dental office setting; new graduates welcome. Familiarity with Velscope, Diagnodent, digital scanners, digital x‑rays, and electronic record systems. Motivation to continue learning and expand clinical skills. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and lift up to 45 pounds. Availability to attend virtual or in‑person training sessions as needed. Must complete a tuberculosis test before starting employment. Benefits
