Registered Nurse, Intensive Care, Full Time, Night

Position Summary To fulfill the needs of patients in a variety of age groups, their family members, and the community by performing varied patient care tasks and functions in accordance with licensure, certification, training, and regulatory requirements. Education & Licensure Bachelor's degree in Nursing required. Current/valid State of New Jersey license (or legal permission to work from the New Jersey Board of Nursing). CPR, BLS & ACLS certifications required. Medical terminology required. Experience & Skills Computer and keyboard skills. Physical and cognitive requirements: full range of body motion including physically assisting patients, stretching, bending, lifting, sitting, kneeling, stooping, standing, walking, pushing and pulling. Manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination required. Constant talking and listening in English, effective oral and written communication skills, speech clarity, understanding relayed information, deductive and inductive reasoning skills. Considerable walking, standing, sitting, reaching, filing, typing and photocopying required. Ability to perform work accurately, pay attention to details, and shift rapidly from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. Ability to function competently in stressful situations and a changing work environment related to changing needs of patients with acute, chronic and complex and/or terminal disease processes. Ability to work cooperatively within a health system with multidisciplinary team members (MDs, Rehab, Respiratory, DI, Laboratory, etc.). Effective time‑management skills to set priorities, perform responsibilities, solve problems and deliver care. Physical Requirements Position is classified according to the USDOL as Very Heavy Work (exerting more than 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or more than 50 pounds frequently, and/or more than 20 pounds constantly to move objects). The National Institute of Safety and Health (NIOSH) guidelines recommend that the average worker not lift more than 51 pounds without assistance.
