Responsibilities The Veterinary Internal Medicine Specialist will: Manage a diverse caseload of complex internal medicine patients. Develop evidence-based treatment and ongoing case-management plans. Manage referred internal medicine cases from primary care veterinarians. Collaborate closely with emergency clinicians on complex and hospitalised patients. Communicate effectively with referring veterinarians throughout the diagnostic and treatment process. Build and maintain strong professional relationships within the hospital's referral network. Clearly communicate diagnoses, prognoses, treatment options, and ongoing care requirements to pet owners. Provide specialist-level guidance to veterinary technicians and other clinical professionals. Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records. Contribute to a collaborative culture focused on clinical excellence. Participate in continuing education and ongoing specialty development. Candidate Profile Applicants should be a Board-Certified Veterinary Internal Medicine Specialist (DACVIM or equivalent) or have completed an approved veterinary internal medicine residency training programme . Candidates must possess, or be eligible to obtain, a California veterinary licence . The ideal candidate will demonstrate: Advanced knowledge of small animal internal medicine .
