Additional Job Description: The Department of Neurology in the WVU School of Medicine andthe WVU Cancer Institute are jointly seeking a Chief of Neuro-Oncology (ranks available: Assistant Professor,Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate willbe expected to practice in Morgantown, WV. This key position represents an outstanding opportunity within ourcomprehensive, academic-based multi-state healthcare system. Thesuccessful candidate will be a creative and dynamic individual withexcellent leadership, research, teaching, administrative andcommunication skills. As well, the individual will workcollaboratively with leadership in the development ofmulti-disciplinary and health system-wide programs. The primary responsibilities of the Chief are to overseeadministrative and financial operations for the division, leadgrowth of new clinical programs, and to define and implement theeducational, research/scholarly, and clinical service missions ofthe division, department, and institute. In this role, you willreport directly to the Chair of Neurology. Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the area ofneuro-oncology. In addition to providing excellent patient care,the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teachingmedical students, residents, and fellows . Administrativeduties include working with both the Department of Neurology andthe Department of Oncology to ensure growth and development of allaspects of the missions of WVU and WVU Medicine. Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreignequivalent and be eligible for state medical licensure. Successfulcandidate must have completed neurology residency program as wellas neuro-oncology fellowship program and be board certified inneurology and neuro-oncology. Evidence of leadership experience andsuccess across clinical, research, and educational domains. Allqualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
