Position Overview

Role Summary: This position involves providing leadership that enhances the delivery of professional nursing care, ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients. The nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—will be utilized to provide, delegate, supervise, and document patient care and education for both patients and their families. You will also implement medically prescribed interventions.

Qualifications
  • Required Education: A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is necessary, or enrollment in a BSN or advanced degree program with the expectation of obtaining a BSN within five years of starting the RN role. Grandfathering is accepted between departments and entities. Exemptions or extensions may be granted by the facility's Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and reported to the CNO Council. Facilities will track exemptions as needed. RNs with ten or more years of experience are exempt from this requirement.
  • Preferred Education: A Master's degree in Nursing.
  • Required Licenses/Certifications: Current licensure as a registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing is mandatory. An Enhanced Nurse License Compact (eNLC) license may be applicable; licensees should verify with the NCBON. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers is also required.
  • Preferred Licenses/Certifications: National certification in a relevant specialty area.
  • Required Experience: At least one year of nursing experience in a hospital setting.
