This is because we celebrate the diversity of thought, the richness of the human experience and the desire to reflect the communities we serve.Summary: Make pick-ups of incoming donations, to deliver store shipments, to complete store and contract deliveries, and to maintain an awareness of the working conditions of the trucks.Duties and Responsibilities:Ability to drive truck for pick-ups, Attended Donation Center (ADC) sites, store shipments, and contract deliveries adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies. Drives to assigned locations and delivers shipments or to make pickup; returns with store racks, barrels, containers, trash, bale, etc.; may also deliver and/or pickup for the contract department if necessary. Completes all duties as per standards.Communicates regularly with Transportation Supervisor. Receives a daily schedule from Transportation Supervisor and completes a daily time log of arrival and departure at each stop. Calls in to report any delays, problems and/or concerns. Adheres to truck seal procedures.Loads and unloads trucks following all safety guidelines and in a safe manner to avoid damage to materials and injury to personnel.Guides Warehouse Specialists as assigned as to what assistance is needed.May assists baler when needed by weighing and storing bales, records necessary information, inventories supplies, removes all bale bins from processing and takes to baler, return all containers to the proper place in the processing dept.Completes all required forms accurately and submit in a timely fashion. Responsible for sufficient supplies to properly complete their position.Assists the general public with any questions. Explains the type of donations Goodwill Keystone Area can or cannot use; presents a neat and orderly appearance; remains polite and diplomatic at all times.Takes containers of donations to processing/production department. Drops off materials to be processed; returns with empty cages and cages of trash.Maintains cleanliness of truck and work areas. Sweeps debris from the truck on a daily basis; keeps cab of truck organized and clean; ensures daily maintenance checklist is completed; periodically cleans around dock areas; empties containers of trash. Reports any mechanical problems are reported to Transportation Supervisor immediately.Performs extra pick-ups and deliveries as required. Drives for extra donations, display items, or new goods to and from warehouse.Promotes an environment of workplace safety. Assures that duties are performed in a safe manner and safety requirements are adhered to.Communicates progress, problems, and concerns to the Transportation Supervisor.QualificationsEducation and Experience:No formal education necessary.Skills/Abilities/Qualifications:Must have current Pennsylvania CDL driver's license and be approved by Goodwill Keystone Area's insurance company before driving company truck.Minimum 2 years CDL-A truck driving experience required.Ability to read, write, and perform simple mathematical computations.Must have effective communication skills and present self in a professional manner to general publicMust have the ability to work beyond normal schedule to include extended hours as well as Saturdays and Sundays.Overtime is mandatory during peak times.Physical Requirements:Ability to work with hands and have excellent eye/hand coordination.Ability to work in all extreme weather conditions.Ability to push and pull various carts requiring an initial force of 50 pounds a distance of 150 feet for 25% of the shift.Ability to push and pull manual pallet jacks with gaylords or other material requiring an initial force of 60 pounds a distance of 100 feet for 25% of the shift.Ability to push and pull the speed lift requiring an initial force of 60 pounds a distance of 20 feet four times per shift.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds from ground level to waist level frequently throughout the entire shift.Ability to lift 75 pounds from ground level to waist level once per shift.Ability to step up 24 inches at a time onto forklifts and/or truck cab steps for 10% of the shift.Visual and hearing acuity (with correction) that meets standard vision and hearing test criteria for a Commercial Driver's License.Ability to sit continuously for 3 hours at a time for more than 75% of the shift.Ability to stand and/or walk for a prolonged period of time for 25% of the shift.Ability to bend, kneel and stoop to open and close doors and secure loads for 10% of the shift.Goodwill Keystone Area is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to complying with all federal, state, and local laws that prohibit discrimination in employment.
