Electrical Systems Engineer

Must-Haves:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
- 3–5 years of electrical engineering experience
- Working knowledge of NEC and NFPA 70E
- Experience supporting industrial/facility electrical power distribution at 480V and below
- Ability to read and interpret electrical one-line diagrams, panel schedules, and construction drawings
- Experience working with facility breaker boxes and electrical distribution equipment
- Experience tracking KPIs related to equipment utilization, uptime, and electrical interruptions
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical distribution issues and support facility startup/operations
Plusses:
- Experience in powdered metal, magnet, or similar heavy-industrial manufacturing environments
- Arc flash hazard analysis experience
- Knowledge of electrical equipment labeling requirements
- Exposure to medium-voltage utility service and substations
- Experience with generators, automatic transfer switches, UPS systems, and power metering
Day-to-Day:
- Partner with design engineers, electrical contractors, vendors, and facility stakeholders during installation and startup
- Verify electrical installations against engineering drawings, one-lines, equipment power requirements, and approved designs
- Support facility-wide electrical distribution with an emphasis on 480V and below
- Inspect substations, transformers, switchboards, panelboards, bus duct, grounding systems, and fused disconnects
- Review contractor redlines, construction drawings, and as-built documentation
- Identify installation deficiencies, design conflicts, and constructability issues and coordinate corrective actions
- Support equipment energization, commissioning, site acceptance testing, and turnover to operations
- Coordinate installation sequencing, punch-list resolution, and contractor follow-through
- Troubleshoot power distribution issues during facility startup and early operations
- Support testing/startup of generators, ATS, UPS, and power-metering systems
- Maintain inspection, testing, equipment-status, and outstanding-issue documentation
- Help develop preventive and predictive maintenance strategies
- Support electrical reliability, condition monitoring, lifecycle planning, utility management, and operating-cost control
