Your new team has a willingness and curiosity to see possibility and potential in everything – from the most iconic projects to our everyday conversations.Your key dutiesWork closely with clients, architects and other Buro Happold Engineers and/or design team members as part of a dedicated and skilled teamProvide detailed engineering designs, drawings, documents, specifications, and act as job leader on projects as requiredPrepare technical and financial proposals for new work. Set up and manage job/project administrative systems, including planning and monitoring job resourcing/expenditure (adjusting these as necessary)Continually ensure that practices, policies, strategy and services represent the client’s best interests and that Buro Happold policy is in keeping with current legislationWork competently on an independent basisMentor and assist junior engineersYour skills and experience5+ years’ experience of innovative bridge engineering design (pedestrian bridge experience preferred)Relevant bachelor or master’s degreeProfessional Engineer (P.E.) desirableThorough knowledge and understanding of US Building and Material CodesGood working experience with BIM tools such as REVITProactive ability to take the initiative, learn, and be creative in a team environment.Experience using computation design methods, using Rhino, Grasshopper is a bonus but a willingness to learn will serve you well as we offer plenty of opportunity to progress with these tools.Ability to multi-task, effectively manage time, and maintain ongoing project focusAbility to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible wayCandidates are encouraged to apply even if they don’t meet all requirementsWhat we offer youGenerous benefits packageAnnual discretionary bonusGenerous PTO (4 weeks) in addition to 10 paid holidays401k with company matchHybrid working & summer hoursReimbursement for certain professional licenses and associated renewals and exam feesConnection to global network of experts on the forefront of industry initiativesAccess to wide ranging learning and development opportunitiesConnect with colleagues and build your network through our Employee Resource Groups, including the Young Employees Forum, Diversity & Inclusion Forum, Women's Network, Wellness Committee, and Black at Buro HappoldCompensationAnticipated base annual salary: $103,000 – $138,000. The salary range listed for this position is intended as a general guideline and may vary based on factors such as location, education, skills, experience, and market conditions. We recognize that candidates bring diverse backgrounds and qualifications, and compensation may be adjusted accordingly. The posted range should not be viewed as a strict minimum or maximum limitation.
