Sr. Azure Data Engineer

Job Summary The candidate should have a robust background in data modeling and ETL processes. The candidate should have essential hands‑on experience with Advanced SQL and Python to deliver scalable analytics solutions on Microsoft Fabric. Proficiency in building Data Lake and supporting enterprise initiatives with regulatory requirements is highly desirable. Additionally, knowledge and experience in SAP and holding Azure certifications, are considered a plus. Core Job Responsibilities Participate in business discussions and project kickoffs to gather and document requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Provide updates on projects and identify gaps, facilitating effective communication between technical and business teams. Offer input and propose solution designs that meet business needs and technical requirements. Provide immediate support for ad hoc requests, demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness. Demonstrate proven data modeling experience. Build and maintain solutions using Microsoft Fabric components (Data Factory, Lakehouse, notebooks, pipelines and Power BI). Write efficient and scalable SQL queries to extract and manipulate data. Develop and maintain Python scripts for data processing and automation. Possess experience with finance, sales, and inventory data. Dive into technical details of implementations and provide feedback to ensure high‑quality outcomes. Review code changes and ensure adherence to best practices. Contribute to project prioritizations based on interactions with business stakeholders. Basic Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant work experience: 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on data engineering. Strong experience in data modeling and ETL processes. Microsoft Fabric design and development experience. Proven experience in technical leadership and guidance. Ability to design effective solutions and prioritize projects. Flexibility to handle ad hoc support requests. Advanced hands‑on SQL and Python knowledge; working with relational databases for data querying and retrieval. Knowledge and experience building data lakes and enterprise analytics solutions with Microsoft Azure, including Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database and other Azure services. Experience with additional data modeling tools such as Erwin or Visio. Experience with building audit‑ready governed data solutions. Knowledge and experience with other cloud platforms like AWS and Google Cloud. Microsoft Fabric certifications (e.g., DP-600 – Fabric Analytics Engineer) are highly desirable. Experience with Power BI or Tableau for reporting and data visualization. Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Benefits and Compensation Salary: $101,000.00 – $152,000.00 per year (actual salary will vary based on location, education, experience, skills, and abilities). The role is eligible for a bonus and/or incentive.
