This role performs technical, multi-disciplined work to improve manufacturing quality, performance, and throughput, while acting as a critical liaison between Operations and R&D.This position is on-site at our Austin, Texas production facility.Why this role stands out:This is not a traditional manufacturing test engineering role.You will support test systems end-to-end — from troubleshooting and optimization to building scalable solutionsYou'll help solve real business pain points — preventing test bottlenecks as production scalesYou'll work at the intersection of R&D and Operations — a true bridge role that influences both design and manufacturingYou'll join at a growth moment — the role was created due to increasing demand and scaling needs, giving you high visibility and impactThis is a unique opportunity to step into a role where your work is immediately visible and valued.In this role, a typical day will look like:Support the design, deployment, and maintenance of production test systemsTroubleshoot test stand issues and implement corrective actionsDevelop and maintain standard operating procedures and technical documentationCollaborate with R&D, Quality, Product Management, and cross-functional teamsLead continuous improvement initiatives using VES Lean Manufacturing toolsSupport new product introduction and transfer from R&D to OperationsThe essential requirements of the job includeBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline1–3 years of experience designing, deploying, or supporting production test systems in a manufacturing environmentUnderstanding of PCBA manufacturing processes, with the ability to read PCBA schematic diagrams to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and test-system issuesExperience with automated testing and test equipment used in manufacturing environmentsFamiliarity with manufacturing quality and process control tools (e.g., pFMEA, Gauge R&R)Experience in creating and maintaining technical documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)It would be nice if you possess:Familiarity with test software designFamiliarity with PCBA design principles and design-for-test (DFT) conceptsExperience using bench test equipment such as digital multimeters, power supplies, and source measurement unitsExperience with mechanical engineering tools, CAD, or related engineering softwareWhat's in it for you?Ownership & visibility: Play a key role in a growing operation with immediate impactCross-functional exposure: Work directly with R&D, operations, and engineering teamsCareer progression: Build a strong foundation for broader manufacturing or engineering leadership rolesKipp & Zonen is proud to be part of the Water Quality segment of Veralto (NYSE: VLTO), a $5.5B global leader dedicated to ensuring access to clean water, safe food and medicine, and trusted essential goods. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate's position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.The compensation range for this role is $70,000 - $90,000 USD per year.We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
