The unit has 44 beds and 2 speech therapists on day shift. Patient ratios are 1:8/10. Typical procedures include evaluating and treating multiple diagnoses related to swallowing and speech language. MBS studies are performed on the unit. Equipment used includes MBS suite, Vital Stim, IOPI, EMST150, and Bioness BITs. The facility utilizes electronic medical records (EMR). The ideal candidate is patient-focused, team-oriented, and flexible. Candidates may need to float to acute hospital areas. Dress code consists of black scrub bottoms and a preferred royal blue scrub top, but other colors are accepted. There is a rotating weekend shift expectation, usually one shift per month.
